Gophers Add Two Exhibition Contests to 2022-23 Schedule

Minnesota will host the University of Manitoba on Sept. 24 and the Minnesota Whitecaps on Sept. 30.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota Women's Hockey team has added two exhibition contests before the puck officially drops on the 2022-23 season. The Gophers will host the University of Manitoba on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 2:00 p.m. CT before facing the Minnesota Whitecaps on Friday, Sept. 30 at Ridder Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT.
The Gophers and Whitecaps will face off for the first time since a preseason exhibition on Sept. 22, 2019. The Gophers earned a 5-1 win over the then-defending Isobel Cup champions including goals from Taylor Heise and Grace Zumwinkle. Minnesota and Manitoba face off in an exhibition for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
Maroon and Gold alumnae on the 2022-23 Whitecaps roster include new signing Olivia Knowles, Stephanie Anderson, Sydney Baldwin, Amanda Leveille, Meghan Lorence, Patti Marshall, Nicole Schammel and Alex Woken. Both exhibition contests will be free admission to fans.
